Members of the Family and Childrens’ Counseling Center joined the Rockville Centre Coalition for Youth to implement an afternoon program of Prevention Education. Youth ages 7 to 17 participated in activities that focused on positive choices and identifying risky behavior. Detective Nicholas DeLuca of the Rockville Centre Police Department demonstrated to the teenagers, through the use of “Fatal Vision” Goggles, how using Marijuana negatively impairs judgment, vision and physical mobility. This program was enjoyable and educational and we look forward to bringing more programs to the MLK Community Center.
